They make the design"

- Charles & Ray Eames

After studying industrial design at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, Edward Tung realized that his calling was not in designing products but decorating them. Having placed in the Top 4 of a prestigious embroidery competition out of 500 contestants from over 33 countries, he was invited to study at ESAA Duperre and embarked on his journey to gain as much knowledge in the métiers surrounding haute couture in Paris.

During his time in Paris, he also trained at the famed Maison Lesage. He began working with notable maisons including John Galliano, Givenchy, Balmain; designing and executing embroidery for the collections. After 5 years abroad, he decided to return stateside and settled in the tri-state area establishing Broderies de Luxe - as a design firm utilizing his vast experience specializing in surface embellishment ranging from embroidery to plumasserie(featherwork).

In 2016, he established his own school to teach these skills on to those interested in learning about the métiers associated with Paris fashion. www.ecolebdl.com
